QuantumTouch was developed for Quantum Jam 2022 as a digital art installation to showcase the technology in a visual form. I had a simple takeaway that I wanted to make visceral - Data interpretation can be a creative act, allowing artists to work in highly technical fields like quantum computing.
This piece was inspired by Rothko. Rothko worked with fundamental shapes but was willing to let them be imperfect. This makes for a great starting place for making art with a quantum computer. Quantum computing itself is in its infancy. I set out to create art that uses quantum fundamentals themselves to celebrate the imperfections of the technology.
TouchDesigner was used for the interactions and visuals, while the data came directly from a run on IBM's quantum computers
The code to this piece was given out to all the artists participating in the design Jam
